tetradrachm, Azes II (ca. 35 BC to 5 AD), struck
during biblical times. Mounted in silver bezel
with 14K gold prongs and bail, choice. "King Azes II
lived from approximately 35 B.C. to 10 A.D.
According to legend, he may have been one of the
three wise men that followed the guiding star to
Bethlehem to pay homage to the newborn Christ child.
The story is told in the Gospel of Matthew
